Our eye doctor takes the time to explain the results of your eye exam, describes your options and listens to your eye care needs. Because maintaining good eye health is an ongoing partnership, we encourage you to ask questions and share your health information, which could be vital to monitoring, diagnosing, and treating potential vision problems.
Dr. Dedra Ling, who originates from Chicago, received her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. Upon graduation she moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida and began attending the Nova Southeastern College of Optometry. After completion of her doctorate at Nova Southeastern, she started her career as a traveling Optometrist and worked mainly in the vicinities of Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach. In 2009 Dr. Ling turned her sights further south in search of a city with an excellent sense of community. She landed in Key West, fell in love with the city and it’s people, and is now proud to be helping her patients see better at Key West Optical. Dr. Ling is a member of the Rotary Club of Key West, the Key West Chamber of Commerce, and leads the daily runs for the Key West Southernmost Runner's Club. Being a member of these organizations shows that Dr. Ling is passionate about her community as well as her work, and she looks forward to being your Optometrist in Key West.
